'Jeannie' simister was born in weymouth on the 6th April 1934, into a loving family with dad Robert and mum Mildred. She had an elder brother, Robert and sister, Angela and I am sure times were hard as war was looming and work tight. Her dad went to war like so many brave young able men at that time and was unfortunately kept prisoner of war in Germany for many years. This must have been truely awful for all concerned, how can we, today, know what they must all of suffered, not to know if and when he would return and in what state?
